'Points System' - How It Works

Introducing The Points System

EGLD Community was created to bring together projects, opinion leaders, and builders from the MultiversX ecosystem, and unite like-minded individuals. 

Since the platform's launch in 2022, EGLD Community has grown into a place where people can share ideas, projects can share their milestones, and everyone can learn more about what’s being built in the MultiversX ecosystem. With the new rebrand and update of the platform, we wanted to find a way to reward our most dedicated community members – thus we are introducing the new Points System.

The Points System is simple, EGLD Community users are rewarded for doing social activities like posting on the feed, liking and commenting on other posts, and more.

The more a user interacts with the community, the more points they receive, and the closer they reach Level 5 - the highest community level!

How To Participate

To start earning Points, you have to be a user that: 

1. Has uploaded a profile picture to your profile
2. Has connected your xPortal wallet to the platform

Once this has been done, your profile will be eligible to participate. If you do not connect your profile to a xPortal wallet, you will not be able to participate in the Points System. Once connected, you will see your “level” and number of points in the navigation bar labeled as “XP.” 

In your profile, you will also see a new page called “Ranking.” This page gives you an overview of all the points you have received and which activities you completed to receive those points.

How To Earn Points

There are 5 levels within the EGLD Community Points System. Once you have followed the steps above, you will start at Level 1. You reach another level by the number of social activities you complete. Activities (or events) that you are rewarded points for include:

• Creating an engaging post on the feed
• Liking and commenting on a post
• Following projects and opinion leaders
• Obtaining new followers
• Liking and commenting on blog posts

The Points System rewards users for consistent interaction over the course of days, weeks, and months so it benefits those who repeatedly use the platform and post high-quality content. Daily limits are applied to certain events to avoid the system from being exploited.

Win Prizes! 

We are launching a ‘Challenge Series’ in partnership with six handpicked projects from the MultiversX ecosystem (teaser: the first one goes by the name of 🐄 🐄)

Each partner project will team up with us for an action-packed one-week campaign, starting on Monday and ending on Sunday of each week. So far, every partner we talked to has committed to allocating a minimum prize pool of $2,000, which will be distributed to community members based on their weekly activities and points. The highest ranking users on levels 3, 4, and 5 at the end of each week will receive some prizes.

There will also be additional prizes that will be personally handpicked by the project partners themselves. These winners will be chosen based on their participation in the campaign and other relevant criteria.
