After months of hard work and multiple iterations, we are thrilled to take you through all the new and exciting EGLD Community 2.0 updates.

We listened to your feedback and developed new solutions to empower projects, builders, and community members in the Elrond ecosystem. To ensure you can easily navigate your way around ELGD Community 2.0, we've put together a quick introduction and guide on what's new. 

The EGLD 2.0 update provides an overview of the following areas:

The most significant upgrade of the EGLD Community 2.0 site is implementing our new Feed Feature. The feature moves away from showing external content and instead focuses on curated content created directly within the platform. Users can follow and engage with one another, as well as follow and interact with their favorite projects and opinion leaders in various ways.

Let's explore some of the aspects of the feed in more detail:

Switching between User Accounts and Project Accounts

All users will be able to create content directly in the Feed via several options.

As an Individual User, you can create your own content and apply various pre-determined Tags. You can also share your own images and videos directly. 

As a Project, you can see in the image below that a few additional options are available - these are the Announcements and Polls features. First of all, these are only available for verified projects (read more ➡️ here), however, once verified, projects can unlock this unique functionality and engage with their communities - if a project wants to ask their community a question, they can use the Poll feature. This allows verified projects to create a poll with various responses and time limits - voting is easy to do, and results are displayed for all to see.

Announcements - This feature is very similar to normal posts; however, as this is important news, we provide a unique graphic and emphasize this information on the feed by showcasing it at the top of the home page. 

We wanted to make the process of switching between a standard User Account and a team member account (Project Account) of your project as seamless as possible. As a result, we implemented the User Switch, which allows you to easily switch between your two accounts, without having to log out and back in every time. 

With all of the new content available, we have implemented a straightforward and easy-to-use filtering system that allows you to search for content based on Tags that the author has used.

Users can choose to filter from all accounts' content, specifically those they are following, or just opinion leaders.

We have implemented a major revamp of the individual User Profiles. This cleaner design provides three distinct headings:

Feed - this will show all of the content that the user is an author of

Activity - this will give an overview of all of the content that the user has interacted with (but is not an author of)

NFTs - the users' very own unique NFT gallery displaying all of their Elrond NFT collection (users can link this to their Elrond wallet via settings)

Project Profiles and Community Interaction

Another one of our focuses with the latest release was to ensure that we gave projects the ability to edit their content and create focal points for their content.

All content posted by the project is now found in the Feed tab providing community members and projects alike the ability to see all updates and interactions in one clear view. 

The About page continues to provide concise updates and the newly designed Team page provides information about the core team.

In the near future, we will add additional features to this page that help projects further interact and engage with their communities.

What we've listed above is the start of a new and exciting wave of features that we will be releasing to the community. Our focus is to provide projects with all the tools and resources they need to interact with their respective communities in the best way possible.

Elrond announced X Day and releases early bird tickets 

Early September, the Elrond team announced 'X Day', their first big conference hosted at the Palais Brongniart in Paris, this November. The conference aims to bring together partners, government officials, builders, and investors to network and create memorable experiences that will resonate throughout the entire blockchain space.

Here’s what conferences attendees can expect: 

Day 1: The Elrond team will take us through their journey over the past years and various developments in their roadmap. They will also dive deeper into the fundamentals of Elrond and enlighten us on new products that will reshape the future of the blockchain. 

Day 2: Attendees can take part and listen in on discussions between industry leaders and innovators to discover how blockchain technology is creating entirely new business verticals.

Day 3: The final day will focus on the builders who continuously leverage the unique capabilities of the Elrond protocol. Attendees can walk and visit around various booths, attend talks, and network with project founders and builders.

Another announcement from the Elrond team is the release of Inspire Art

“Inspire’s mission is to align and considerably amplify the efforts which resourceful artists, collectors, and builders have put in, to create a vibrant, cultural and creative NFT ecosystem on Elrond.” - Beniamin Mincu

Inspire.art acts as an aggregator, giving links to marketplaces of listed NFTs. With the introduction of the Metaspace, it allows the project spotlighted to be bought and sold directly on the Inspire website or the MaiarApp. Inspire is a great tool that will give the possibility to manage your NFTs through the app so you don’t need to go on a Marketplace to do your trades.

Additionally, the Web3 thread is a new feature on the app and Inspire.art, this means you can follow other people with their heritage and see all of their activities on the marketplace. 

Nathan (@nathansfpv on Twitter), a photographer and filmmaker, travelled to Romania to meet with the team. 

Check out this great documentary he created about the Elrond team: 

Elrond improved their Swap system. Developed to bring an improved trading experience on the MaiarDEX, the new Smart Swaps 2.0 algorithm ensures upgraded overall performance and efficiency. It develops the answer time for swap requests and gives the token a better route computing so the user always has the best experience.

QoWatt, the project that aims to equip the world with electric charge systems for cars, just joined the Maiar exchange and also the Metabonding program to start rewarding people that are staking $QWT. 

QoWatt already has over 20 charging stations active around France and aims to build more all around Europe. Read more about QoWatt below:

Runtime Verification extends their commitment towards Elrond

Runtime Verification is a technology startup based in Illinois. They use runtime verification-based techniques to perform security audits on virtual machines and smart contracts on blockchains. They worked for NASA and became an indispensable foundation for the development of Elrond’s protocol.

Now, they became a staking provider and decided to extend their commitment. Offering non-custodial $EGLD delegation services and further contributing to the network’s security and decentralization.

Runtime Verification has five active nodes and offers approximately 10% APR with a capped delegation limit. 

One of the biggest announcements this past week is the integration of Elrond into Opera, the 300+ million user software that will give the possibility for new users to be an active member in the Elrond ecosystem.

To make it easier and faster for builders to brand their tokens, the Elrond team recently introduced Elrond Assets: https://assets.elrond.com/. 

An easy step-by-step process, which provides builders the possibility to give all the information required in order to brand their product in a faster way.

Similar to the JungleDEX, this is a great addition from Elrond as it will make the experience much faster and seamless for everyone.

Mid-september, Elrond France, in partnership with EGLD Community and Morningstar Ventures organized the third Elrond Magnetic Meetup in Morvan, France. It was held for a full weekend with workshops and activities. It’s the third meetup for the French team, and it was a pleasure for us to help them by supporting the organization and providing resources.

Elrond Recap: September

Last Friday, September 2nd, Elrond came out with one of their most anticipated announcements since the beginning of 2022. Namely, the launch of Inspire Art - a Web3 culture hub connecting the entire Elrond NFT space. 

With Inspire Art, the Elrond team wants to bring together and accelerate the expansion of the growing creativity-driven ecosystem within Elrond. Just keep in mind that it’s only the first version, and it’s meant to be improved from all the feedback and evolutions in the Elrond ecosystem! 

So, let’s dive in and take a closer look at how Inspire works. In the end, we will also cover the new updates on the Maiar App. This will be our analysis and review of this new tool.

How Inspire.art Works and What It Looks Like

Starting on the homepage, the team wanted to ensure that everyone understood NFTs and what they are. It created the following four sections for users to learn more; 

Kickstart your NFT journey (New to NFTs?) 

Learn more about NFTs (How does it work?) 

Create your first NFT with ease (NFTize everything) 

Master your bid game (How to win an auction?)

The sections aim to educate people on the benefits of understanding an “NFT.” In each section, one can find a clear and straightforward explanation of what an NFT is and why it is on Elrond. Furthermore, there is also a section that teaches how to bid and own your favorite NFT. It’s an excellent and easy way to understand the ecosystem and onboard to the hub.

Right below, the team lays out the purpose of the Web3 Hub - Join creators, collectors, and builders from all over the world who are starting on this exciting journey. Inspire gives users three options to begin their NFT journey; Create, Explore and Collect. 

It’s important to note that the team emphasizes “starting on this exciting journey.” It shows that this is only the beginning, and there are bigger things to come. 

Further down, the team has compiled the trending auctions, which can be filtered by hashtags (#). In the “Explore” section, you can also find all the collections listed on Inspire, meaning that all NFTs created on this network will show up. 

Another great feature is the addition of the Metaspaces. These are essentially individual pages dedicated to an NFT project. Projects can showcase their NFT collection and add their roadmap, blog posts, and other relevant information for their community. With the Metaspaces, you can directly sell from the website or Maiar App, allowing you to showcase your NFT project and attract a wider audience. At the moment, Elrond Apes is the launching partner, with more projects to come in the near future. You can check out their marketplace and whole NFT collection here. 

Now, on to one of the best parts, creating your own profile! You can build your profile via Inspire and connect it to your wallet, allowing you to access multiple features. 

You can customize your feed by following someone in the community via their herotag. This lets you get a full recap of their recent events, actions, and what they do in the ecosystem. Perhaps, later down the road a similar function to a “tweet” will also be integrated into your profile to make it even more similar to a Social Network. 

On your profile, you can showcase your gallery and share these with your friends, so they can check out what you are up to and how your NFT gallery is progressing. You can also add multiple social handels such as Twitter, Instagram, your website, etc., including a description about yourself, so people know more about you. It’s similar to a Social Network platform and enables community building within the ecosystem. 

In the spirit of transparency, your activity can be visible through your profile, similar to the way it was on Elrond Explorer. You will also be able to track the trading history of any NFT. Finally, you can also see the likes and views of other NFTs, which gives you more insight into what inspires the rest of the ecosystem. Inspire is a great tool to start your journey of creating your own NFT gallery. 

Finally, the recent updates on the Maiar App now allow you to see your Inspire feed when you open the App. Here, you can also see which sales are happening and bid or buy them instantly if they are a verified collection.

Right now, you can filter NFTs by price; however, it’s probably only the beginning of the various features and what can be done with this App.

Inspire is a new initiative, like every other initiative powered by Elrond, it will keep improving and go through multiple upgrades with the help and feedback of the community.

Elrond Introduces: Inspire.art - The Web3 Culture Hub

We are thrilled to introduce the newly launched EGLD Podcast - where you can tune in to gain information and the latest insights about the Elrond Ecosystem. Today we will tell you why we created The EGLD Podcast, and provide a great interview with our podcast host, Szabi Gergely, who recently joined Morningstar Ventures as a content creator and is now full-time in the organisation. He will share more about his experience with creating content, why he decided to make the podcast, and his plans for The EGLD Podcast. Let's go!

A podcast is a great way to learn about different topics in an easy-to-discover format. Whether traveling, going on a walk, or just trying to kill some time, tuning in to your favorite podcast is always a good idea. As the EGLD Community continues to grow, we thought it was only fitting to start a podcast where everyone can learn more and dive deeper into various projects and the Elrond Ecosystem. 

Here is what you can expect! Our great host Szabi will interview various industry experts, founders, and content creators once a week and talk with them about their projects and how they are progressing. Each episode lasts around 30 to 40 minutes and is live on Spotify, Amazon Music, Podcast Index, and more. 

Two episodes are already live! Karl from the Elrond Apes team and Mark Paul & Praveen Paul from Itheum explain their respective projects' vision and current status. They advise how to interact with the blockchain and how to use one's data.

Interview with Szabi - Host of The EGLD Podcast 

This time, we reversed the roles and put Szabi in the guest seat for once. Keep reading to find out who he is and his vision for the EGLD Podcast's future. 

Hello Szabi, thanks for your time, can you introduce yourself and your background?

Hi Louis, thanks for having me. I am originally a Mechanical Engineer, but every now and then I had a meet and greet with trading and the finance world.

I started to trade stocks and forex 4 years ago, and a bit more than 2 years ago I dipped my toes into the crypto world.

Needless to say, I was hooked and also overwhelmed by the information I had to digest, but I am very happy that I did it and since then I continuously learn something new every day.

When did you start to create content and where? Why did you decide to do it?

I always loved teaching or passing information. Even during my 9-5 job, I often had interns whom I trained and I did my best to prepare them for the job.

After learning how to trade (2 years learning curve and still learning every day), getting a fraction of knowledge about crypto, I thought I should pass the knowledge to others, who might not have enough time to learn or dig into the details or just need a bit of help to understand it.

My first video on my BreakingFree Youtube channel aired in January 2021 and it wasn't about crypto, but about stocks.

I realized very fast that people want to learn about crypto rather than stocks,it was also the big altseason, so I switched to crypto fast and one video at a time, I just tried to translate news, technical terminologies, trading patterns everything I knew or learned, to the so called "kitchen language" so anybody could understand it, whether they are in crypto for 2 years or 2 days. 

Can you tell us where you got the knowledge you have today? How can people that want to learn more and do analyses like you do, bring more value to the ecosystem?

I am not sure how much value I add. 😃  I certainly try, so thanks for mentioning it. I learned everything by myself from the internet, other YT channels, Whitepapers, scripts.

Everything we need to learn is there on the web, we just need to cherry-pick the information with true value. That doesn't mean that you won't waste time and realize after hours of digging that you wentin the wrong direction, but for me that is also a lesson learned.

Learning about finance and crypto is very hard, nobody should be tricked by that. Having 2 diplomas in other industries, I can say with confidence, learning crypto or even just scratching the surface is as hard as graduating from university.

My knowledge was also helped a lot by having a channel. It may sound funny, but knowing that people rely on the information I give them, gives me extra motivation and strength to provide accurate information and check everything twice.

How do you envision the future of The EGLD Podcast? What do you want to bring to the ecosystem with this format?

When I joined the EGLD community the number of followers was substantially smaller than today. Having a YT channel mostly following Elrond and now being the host of this great podcast I can say the community is strong.

Every content creator is as strong as their community. If I look around I am very happy to see that even in this market people are engaged with the projects therefore with the content creators.

As for the future, my objective remains the same. Bring information to the people, help people understand what is happening behind the curtains and why a project is great or why the risk is higher.In my opinion this is very important, to onboard more people and I am very happy to be part of it.

I see a strong future for The EGLD Podcast, we already had and will have many interesting guests from strong projects, which are the cornerstones of the Elrond ecosystem. As long as the community remains engaged, whether the market is up or down, will only be noise in the greater picture.

Do you have any future plans for more things outside the podcasts with MSV? 

Yes I do, but at this moment I can’t talk about them. We have a couple of things in the pipeline, we may be able to reveal some of them in Paris at the Elrond Conference (no promises :D ), but I can assure you it’s going to be interesting and it will mean more engagement between the community and projects.

Thank you again for your time, any non-financial advice last word for our community? 

It was a pleasure having this chat. My non-financial advice is that the price of a token doesn’t matter. What matters is always the team. In these market conditions, the moments we should cherish are those when a token is bottoming while the team is working as hard as they did in the bull-market. But of course as you said, Not Financial Advice. :D

Introducing The EGLD Podcast

Today, we want to take you through our new Claim and Verification features that we have just launched on EGLD Community.

We're really excited to tell you about this one. This feature does a number of things:

- Allows the founders and builders amongst us to 'claim' a role (i.e. be listed as a team member) on their Project page

- Allows the team to obtain a 'verified' status for their project

- Shows the community what projects are working with us and who are going the extra mile to build a relationship with their community

Let’s have a deep dive into how you progress through each of the above components work (we'll use the Elrond Apes page as an example):

On the right-hand side of the specific project page is a button titled, 'Claim position'. Selecting this will then prompt the user to enter their 'role' within the project. Once submitted, the EGLD Community team will either approve or decline this position. The user will receive a notification once this has been reviewed.

Once your role has been approved you will then be shown a new button that states, 'Grab your verification badge'.

Clicking this button will open up a new page that will contain details and further instructions on how to add the EGLD Community verified badge to your own website.

The EGLD Community verification badge will directly link from your own website to your project-specific page on EGLD Community. Displaying this badge and linking it to EGLD Community and receiving the verified status will open up a number of exciting features and benefits to the projects that enable it. Verified projects will also be searchable.

Please note that you will need at least 50 upvotes on your EGLD Community project page to get verified. This number will show on the external button on your website too.

You can now search for 'verified' projects within the Ecosystem page.

We have introduced a toggle on the right hand side of the category search bar, which when switched, will only display projects that have successfully gone through the verification process and been approved by the EGLD Community team.

There will be additional features and benefits released to projects that go through the Claim and Verification process. We're excited to launch these over the coming weeks and months.

Introducing the 'Claim' and 'Verification' features

Today, we want to take you through our new ‘Web3’ feature that we have integrated on EGLD Community.

This exciting release allows you to sign up or login to your account using your Elrond wallet as well as giving you access to a number of other cool features - some of which we have launched today and others that we will release to you over the coming weeks.

Let’s have a deep dive into how each of the elements work:

For new users signing up, they can now create an account using their Elrond wallet. For existing users, they can ‘bind’ their profile to a wallet.

Our team have enabled the primary Elrond wallets:

Connecting your existing account to Elrond

For users that already have an EGLD Community account, you can link your profile to your Elrond wallet by carrying out the following steps:

- Click on your username in the top right-hand corner of the page

- Click on the 'Connect to Elrond' button

- Follow the process for that specific wallet

As part of the Web3 connection, when a user connects their wallet, your NFT collection will now be displayed under your profile. This is an easy way of showing off your collection to your friends. We have some exciting features coming to this page so be sure to connect your wallet and display some NFTs!

Introducing new 'Web3' features

Today, we want to take you through our new ‘upvoting’ feature that we have implemented across varying pages on EGLD Community. This brings improvements to the following:

Let’s have a look at each of these in a bit more detail and how they work.

The Discussions page has a variety of topics that you can get involved with or perhaps even start a new discussion on.

There are ‘Featured’ discussions which represent key topics or requests for suggestions. These change intermittently but are always a good place to start.

You can search on specific topics using the tabs and sort the order by ‘Most Recent’ or ‘Most Upvoted’

The ‘upvoting’ feature we have introduced will help push the most active discussions to the top of this search feature and ensure that the most lively conversations are easy to find.

The Ecosystem page is where we showcase all of the projects in the Elrond ecosystem and list them by category.

This awesome resource for discovering your favourite projects is further enhanced by the upvote button.

The most upvoted projects appear at the top of the page when you select their associated category.

We also list the ‘Top 5’ most upvoted Projects at the top of the page. This is defaulted to site wide favourites until you start to select individual categories.

All of your upvoted Projects are then stored in your Profile.

The Blog is a newly launched feature that contains curated articles from the EGLD Community team. We discuss exciting updates about Projects in the Elrond ecosystem, new features on EGLD Community and a host of other important and exciting topics.

The upvorting button within the Blog page allows users to quickly see what are the most highly rated articles and stores these to your Profile page too.

Introducing the 'Upvotes' feature

Today, we want to tell you more about the Discussions feature of our social platform.

For your journey within the Elrond ecosystem, our aim is to provide you with as many tools as possible that will empower you, and give you the ability to document, share and learn. One of these tools is the Discussions feature.

It was developed to provide you with the opportunity to share knowledge and solicit help from others in an effortless way by engaging in conversation and highlighting subjects that you want to talk about and/or present.

The Discussions feature will evolve with time, and we are looking to give some spotlight to the most active users, as well as those who will start interesting discussion threads. That being said, in the coming weeks we will thus be featuring two discussions and their contributors per week.

First, you will need to click on the "Start a Discussion" button as shown on the image above.

Then, a pop up will ask you three things:

'Select a topic': here you have the choice between posting your discussion in the general subject section vs or in another more specific subject section, which makes finding your content for other readers more efficient.

'Type title or enter question': here you have to be descriptive and clear. This is your chance to spark the interest of other community members.

'Add more details to your post': here there are no limits. You can keep it short or go on typing forever, get creative, fun or educational - the choice is yours!

Make sure to create engaging posts, and add images where you see fit (you can even insert a video from YouTube if you have something specific to share).

Always remember, we will spotlight the best contributions and make sure active members are valued for their input to the community.
