Interview: Cyberpunk City
Published 10th May 2023 by EGLD Community - Team
The MultiversX ecosystem is full of great projects backed by founders and teams with inspiring and exciting stories. Once a week, we sit down with some of these individuals to talk about their projects, so you can learn more about them and get better insights into what they are up to.
In today’s interview, we spoke with jackmelar36, Community Marketing Manager of Cyberpunk City & Cyberpunk Stake.

Hello Jack, thank you for your time. It’s a pleasure to discuss further the Cyberpunk City project with you! Before we start, can you please tell us about yourself and your background?
Hello EGLD Community, thanks for having me.
For those who don’t know me, I am Jack Melar, and I am the Community and Marketing Manager at Cyberpunk City. I have a background in education and a strong interest in marketing, games, and technology. I find the metaverse particularly exciting as it combines all of these interests. I enjoy conversing with people and helping them whenever possible, and I am also eager to learn from them. I feel fortunate to be part of such an informative, supportive, fun, and loyal community, and I believe as long as they keep doing what they do, Cyberpunk City will be in it for the long run.
Let’s talk about Cyberpunk City now! 😁

Can you give us a general overview of what Cyberpunk City is before we discuss the new and upcoming features?
Cyberpunk City is one of the world's first functioning metaverses built on Unreal Engine 5.
It offers an immersive and unique gaming experience with various activities, such as battle royale, team deathmatch, and sci-fi car racing games, with an impressive selection of 10,000 customizable in-game NFT characters.
In addition, Cyberpunk City is powered by MultiversX blockchain and provides users unparalleled security through its WalletConnect login system. Furthermore, Cyberpunk City delivers a unified platform for all its users, enabling them to access their social media, DeFi, GameFi, and NFT Marketplace accounts from within without the need to log in to them separately.
Last but not least, Cyberpunk City's atmosphere is ideal for socializing and holding events, making it the perfect place to be joined by the whole community.

Ok, it’s time to dive into the project! We know that you sold both the CitizenNFTs and the CityNFTs. Can you talk about the different types of NFTs and their uses?
1. CitizenNFT is a collection of 50 unique variations for a total of 10,000 characters.
Hand-crafted in a cyberpunk aesthetic and with ultra-realistic attention to detail, these characters are designed to immerse citizens in the Cyberpunk City world and enable them to establish an emotional connection to their characters. With these (SFTs), you get to enter the game; without them, it won’t be possible. You can buy, mint, or even rent them, but you can’t stake them because you need them inside the metaverse.
2. Cyberpunk City has claimable buildings which make up the CityNFT collection. Those who own these buildings will generate passive income in the form of city tax and will keep the game economy alive. There are 14 different buildings (SFT), and there are 350 copies of each building.
They are stake-able but not rentable, and the full set’s APR is so high (80%.) Which we all love ;)

How does the Cyberpunk City Token ($CYBER) function within the ecosystem, and how does it incentivize user participation?
$CYBER is the default currency used within Cyberpunk City. It is a deflationary currency because it has two burning mechanisms.
The first is to burn from NFT mints (50%), and the second is from a tax wallet (20%).
It also has many functions and utilities, and I will mention a few of them:
➡ NFTs are minted with $CYBER only.
➡ Token holders (Investors,) in other words, income generators, by staking their tokens generate income from staking rewards (up to 50%) and taxes (20%.)
➡ Since WalletConnect is the only login method, NFT trading is available inside the metaverse and is only possible with $CYBER.
➡ A renting system is available for CitizenNFTs with $CYBER.
➡ And, of course, there is a play-to-earn system with game modes.
The different types of incomes and utilities allow users to participate in the way they see best for them.
Can you describe the process for customizing the Citizens in Cyberpunk City?
After minting a CitizenNFT, you get a Case with that, and there are some items you can use to change your character's appearance.
The Case includes pants, t-shirts, jackets, shoes, or many other things, depending on your luck. These Cases are tradable and can be bought from a secondary market as well.
You can’t customize further because our NFTs are made by hand, and our artists try to make them as realistic as possible.

And now the question that most of the audience is waiting for: When do you plan to release the Alpha version?
Many are excited about the release of the Alpha version of the game, and the date was set to be May 23rd, 2023. Currently, we are conducting extensive testing and bug fixes in the lead-up to the release. We can’t wait to see people’s reactions.

Thank you for your time Jack, and the exciting insights! Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Personally, I would like to invite everyone to join our Alpha release, especially the EGLD community, and mark the day (May 23rd, 2023.)
I also would like to thank EGLD Community for this great opportunity. You guys have been supporting and informing the community about different projects, and I appreciate it.
See you guys in the City!
